CapitaLand Investment’s portfolio includes Holland Drive Residences and two other prime properties in Singapore and Thailand
CapitaLand Investment (CLI) has made significant moves in expanding its portfolio in Singapore and Thailand. The company has recently acquired two industrial properties in Singapore and a freehold greenfield site in Bangkok, Thailand. These acquisitions are made through Extra Space Asia (ESA) and CapitaLand SEA Logistics Fund (CSLF), two of CLI’s managed funds.
The first two industrial properties acquired by ESA will add approximately 320,000 sq ft of gross floor area to its portfolio in Singapore. Upon completion, these assets will be converted into self-storage facilities, offering air-conditioned units and wine storage facilities. Meanwhile, CSLF’s acquisition of the freehold greenfield site OMEGA 1 Bang Na in Bangkok marks CLI’s entry into the Thai logistics market. The company plans to develop a state-of-the-art automated logistics campus with a gross floor area of 2.47 million sq ft, making it Thailand’s largest standalone warehouse. The facility will be operated by Ally Logistic Property and is expected to be completed in 2026.
These acquisitions, along with CapitaLand Wellness Fund’s joint acquisition of a freehold lodging property in Singapore last month, brings CLI’s total funds under management in the region to $1.2 billion. CLI Southeast Asia Investment CEO, Patricia Goh, believes that these latest purchases will drive the next stage of growth for the company’s managed funds. She states that by leveraging the expertise of their capital partners and operators, these funds will contribute positively to their fee-related earnings and deliver sustainable returns to investors.
