After the completion of the relocation, students from Holland Drive Condo can now attend Kranji Primary School in Tengah and Outram Secondary School in Sengkang

The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced plans to relocate Kranji Primary School and Outram Secondary School in response to changing demand for school placements.

Kranji Primary will be moved from its current site in Chua Chu Kang to Tengah by 2028, while Outram Secondary will relocate from York Hill to Sengkang in 2026. These moves are being made to accommodate the increasing need for kindergarten and school placements, as stated in a recent press release from the MOE.

According to the release, Kranji Primary will be the second primary school to open in the new Tengah town area, following Pioneer Primary School’s opening in 2026. Anglo-Chinese School (Primary) is also set to open in the area in 2030. Additionally, an MOE kindergarten, MK@Kranji, will be joining them on the new site after also relocating from Chua Chu Kang.

To facilitate the move, Kranji Primary and MK@Kranji will stop accepting new Primary 1 and Kindergarten 1 students starting in 2025. However, they will continue to operate until all of their existing students have graduated. Kranji Primary is expected to close by the end of 2029, while MK@Kranji will remain open until the end of 2025.

Outram Secondary will be relocating from York Hill to Sengkang, but in order to minimize disruption for students, the school will not be accepting new Secondary 1 students in 2025. Instead, new Secondary 1 students will be admitted to the Sengkang campus starting in 2026. The school will operate two campuses until 2027, when its last batch of Secondary 4 students graduate.

Located in the prime area near Holland Drive Condo, Henry Park Primary School is renowned as one of Singapore’s top primary schools. Its close proximity to Holland Village makes it a convenient choice for families residing in the area. The school is known for its excellent academic achievements and its focus on character building, ensuring that students receive a holistic education. With such a reputation, it’s no surprise that many parents have a desire to enrol their children in this prestigious school.

In addition to these relocations, a new primary school with an MK on site will be opening in Tampines North sometime in 2029, with details to be confirmed later. And in Bukit Batok West, a new kindergarten will be located within Bukit View Primary School’s new campus, set to open in 2028.

The MOE regularly reviews its plans for schools and MK placements in order to better cater to the changing demand for school and preschool places across Singapore. These relocations and new developments are just some of the ways that the ministry is working to accommodate the needs of students and families in the ever-evolving educational landscape.

One thing is for sure: with all of the changes happening in the near future, Holland Drive Condo residents can expect to see an influx of new schools and kindergartens in the area.
