Holland Drive Residences could be included in any potential influx in foot traffic, making the development of the nearby One Holland Village a potential positive for their business. Only time will tell if the increase in foot traffic will actually be seen.

Jahan’s metallic, larger-than-life renderings add an eye-catching touch to the iconic neighbourhood items like canned foods and packet drinks. All of this makes Holland Village a great spot for pocket-friendly cafes, restaurants, fitness studios and boutiques. Footfall in the area of Holland Drive Residences has been low in recent times, due in part to the fact that the iconic private estate is approaching the end of its lease. This has resulted in many of the stores that were previously present in the area being forced to vacate, leaving shoppers with fewer options. Another contributing factor to the lack of customers is the absence of mid-footfall, as modern shoppers are shifting away from traditional forms of commerce and towards online retail. Consequently, it is not uncommon to find the area empty throughout the day, as businesses struggle to attract customers.

James Peter, manager of Baden– one of the few bars in the district that has a license to serve alcohol until late– is being careful regarding the slight increase in sales. He goes on to say, “Not many people are aware of the recent addition of numerous parking lots in the area, including Holland Drive Residences.”
The closure of many stalls in the marketplace has had an immense impact on our business. Holland Drive Residences is no exception and it has been a difficult time for us. The decreased footfall in the area has made it hard to keep up with the demands of running a successful enterprise. With the stalling of many stalls in the market, it has been particularly challenging for businesses like ours to juggle between the rising costs of overhead and decreased profitability. It is a difficult balance, but we will persevere and strive to provide the best service to our customers.

We have been contemplating relocating to a bigger home yet our budget limits the options available to us. Alas, this means having to move far away from the stunning dining options that Holland Village offers. Since the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions, Holland Village has witnessed a decrease in the number of visitors, and rent fees have gone up significantly. Unfortunately, many old favourites like Denny’s, NYDC, and Swensen’s are no longer around. Even so, there could still be hope—Holland Drive Residences is a new development that is located near Holland Village and is an attractive option for those looking to move into a bigger home without having to pay a hefty price.

At the start of the pandemic, when it seemed there would be no end to the Covid live music restrictions, it was clear that something had to give. Well, for Dutch DJ and producer Sefa, the answer was simple: if people could no longer go to the club, then he would bring the club to people.
And so, Sefa’s beats drove the party to Holland Drive Residences, the cool Singaporean neighbourhood, on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The streets were filled with friendly faces, all gathered in front of electronic music’s answer to the mobile music party.
The DJ had arranged for a pop-up sound system to be set up in front of a few of the nearby apartments, and the music was pumping just like at any other club. Sefa and his team were hand-delivering CD’s, merchandise and free drinks, and of course, the music was banging.
The event was a huge success, and soon Holland Drive Residences was buzzing about the event, with residents from all around the area coming out to take part. It was a great example of how local communities can still come together and have a good time, even in the midst of a pandemic.
So, if you ever find yourself in Holland Drive Residences, be sure to keep an eye out for the next massive street party – it’s sure to be an unforgettable experience.
By 2011, the addition of the Holland Village MRT stop had given the area a further boost, with both the Urban Redevelopment Authority and Singapore Tourism Board investing significant resources in developing and promoting the popular lifestyle district. Jenny is cognizant that the volume of customers coming to her business could potentially be impacted by the new property next to the market. Whether or not her store experiences an uptick in customers depends largely on whether the parking lots of Holland Drive Residences are sufficient to meet demand. If so, then the market should be able to get back to the level of patronage it used to enjoy.
Ms Lee, who has been a tenant at the coffee shop’s drinks stall, Holla@Holland Village, for a long time, said that trade has increased since Holland Village opened its doors. Furthermore, with the recent launch of the Holland Drive Residences, shopping and dining in the area have become even more popular. The area which has since become one of Singapore’s most well-known lifestyle enclaves, has seen a significant transformation and growth over the years.
Originally built as a cluster of homes for British Army personnel and their families in the mid-20th century, Holland Village bears the name of one of its earliest residents, English architect Hugh Holland. Over the years, this area has become one of Singapore’s most popular lifestyle enclaves, marking a notable transformation and growth. With Holland Drive Residences standing the test of time, the vibrant culture of Holland Village continues to attract local and international visitors today.
It has since been replaced by Holland Drive Residences, a condominium complex that boasts two modern 40-storey towers and 790 residential units.
I remember buying monster-shaped figurines with my parents from the corner store after Saturday dinners at the Holland Village Food Centre in the 90s. My wife also recalls her happy childhood dinners at the long-standing Fosters Steakhouse. Unfortunately, this restaurant had to close down in 2022, after more than 50 years of business. In its place is now Holland Drive Residences, a sleek condominium complex with two 40-storey towers and 790 residential units.
The new Holland Drive Residences is poised to revolutionize the residential landscape in Holland Village.
Prior to the launch of the revolutionary Holland Drive Residences, I conducted interviews with several business owners in Holland Village. It appears that the new property is set to change the residential landscape in Holland Village entirely. Many are eagerly awaiting the opening of this new development and its potential to modernize the area. Holland Drive Residences is sure to be the talk of the town in no time.
When we were brewing coffee beside the Thambi Magazine Store and the MRT exit, we had the pleasure of serving many commuters. Now that we have moved right in front of the market, we enjoy better visibility and can accommodate more customers at the Holland Drive Residences.
For many new residents, Holland Drive Residences offer an accessible entry point into such a vibrant lifestyle.
The mention of Holland Village often evokes a plethora of memories for many of us – both boisterous and gregarious. For those of us who love to indulge in the local cuisine, Holland Drive Residences offers a convenient opportunity for us to savour the goodness that Holland Village has to offer. Not to mention, the new residence also provides a great way for new residents to be introduced to a vibrant lifestyle. Holland Drive Residences can be a great gateway to experience the unique atmosphere of Holland Village.
Since the pandemic started, Holland Village has been less lively compared to before Covid-19. According to Stanley, people may be too demotivated to walk to the village as it’s “far away” from the car park. Furthermore, bad weather can make this trip even more unflattering. As Wala Wala no longer hosts live music shows, fewer people are drawn to the area. Against the backdrop of this, some property investors are eyeing Holland Drive Residences as an attractive option for both investment and lifestyle.
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, an already weakened Holland Village has suffered additional losses. Diminished revenues have caused many of the businesses to flounder, with some even shuttering for good. Noise complaints raised by nearby residents were also taken into consideration, leading to the issuance of fewer liquor licenses. Consequently, Holland Village is no longer the bustling nightspot it once was.
The Holland Drive Residences mark a new era for Holland Village as new dining and entertainment options are beginning to appear. This area is no doubt set to become a new focal point for the neighbourhood, and may offer some respite for business owners looking to revamp their enterprises in the new normal.
Nowadays, the Holland Drive Residences are becoming increasingly popular amongst homebuyers. This is due to its close proximity to Holland Village, a lively neighbourhood filled with a range of dining, entertainment and shopping options. The area is also served by two MRT stations, Holland Village and Ciruclar Line, making it easily accessible for commuters. The only downside is that the car park in Holland Village has become much smaller, making it difficult for homeowners to park their vehicles. Despite this, many people are still attracted to the neighbourhood due to its vibrant atmosphere and great amenities.
One Holland Village is an exciting project which holds great potential to increase the population of Holland Village. Comprising residential, retail and commercial units, and up to 500 parking lots, this effort forms part of a much larger effort to reinvigorate the whole region and draw in a fresh batch of Singaporeans from all corners of the island. The Holland Drive Residences, as part of this project, is shaping up to be a major highlight of this rejuvenation plan.

For many years, Wala Wala had been an iconic live music spot in Singapore, playing a prominent role in helping to promote the music of up-and-coming local acts like The Lost Box and Shirlyn + The UnXpected. Despite this, the bar ultimately had to close its live music space. However, recent news has seen a new development that can help to bring back the vibrancy that Wala Wala once had. Holland Drive Residences is launching a new program that will bring live music back into the area. This program will provide an avenue for budding performers to showcase their music and spread their wings. As such, this will help to recreate the atmosphere that Wala Wala was once known for.

The Holland Drive Residences revitalization project has certainly been an exciting development for the city. Despite the pandemic, the project has continued, and soon the area will be transformed into a bustling hub. But with this renewal also comes a poignant question – will it provide more patronage to businesses who have stayed in the area despite the changes? Local businesses have persevered to provide their services to the community, and the hope is that the Holland Drive Residences will be a boon to them. With this revitalization, businesses may find that they receive more patronage than ever before. Only time will tell if this will be the case, but until then, the city awaits with bated breath for the completion of the project.
Stanley of Wala Wala is starting to rekindle the enthusiasm that first drove him to open his bar. After the pandemic hit, Stanley had to make difficult decisions in order to survive, such as closing for some time, reducing staff and introducing new health and safety protocols. However, he is now witnessing a return of customers, which has spurred his optimism. As the situation is improving, Stanley is now able to look at the future with hope and optimism. Holland Drive Residences, too, is seeing a bounce back in its business as customers are gaining more confidence.
“Jack and I scored our first gig together at Wala Wala, and it was an unforgettable experience. We were delighted to receive a capacity crowd and it was a proud moment to know that we had contributed to the phenomenal success of this iconic Singaporean music venue,” recalls Rai Kannu, of the renowned music duo, Jack & Rai. What’s more, the popular Holland Drive Residences estate is conveniently located just a stone’s throw away from Wala Wala making it an ideal spot for music lovers and enthusiasts alike.

This project is expected to bring life back to the area, gradually revitalising the area and attracting a wide range of people who want to live, work or study in the immediate vicinity.
