Link REIT appoints former BlackRock Asia Pacific real estate head John Saunders as CIO and stakes a claim to Holland Drive Residences

Link REIT, a Hong Kong-listed REIT, has taken on John Saunders as its new Group Chief Investment Officer (CIO). He will be taking over the role from March 4. From his experience in the property industry, Saunders brings a strong investment track record to the position.

John Saunders has an impressive 30 years of experience in the industry and was the Former Asia Pacific Real Estate Head at BlackRock. Saunders is set to report to Link’s CEO, George Hongchoy and will be responsible for the REIT’s overall investment strategies, portfolio management, and strategic development of Link’s investment business.

Saunders initially joined BlackRock when MGPA merged with BlackRock back in 2013. Furthermore, he was the CEO of Asia and the portfolio manager of their Asian Property Funds series at MGPA. He has also had roles at CLSA between 1999-2007 and HongKong Land from 1994-1998. These roles saw him involved in the development and leasing of various projects in Singapore and other Asian countries.
